It’s the Kielbasa Kid…

..and it’s that time of the year again, when school students have to say goodbye to there summer fun and hello to another year of school work. The return used to be the week before Labor Day but I see some school districts starting as early as Aug 21st. Does that mean your school year will end earlier than others and in turn get a quicker start on next summer? Sure it would feel good to end the year early but being in summer mode for so long only to see it end two weeks before the unofficial end of summer arrives is kind of depressing. I was never a fan of going back to school for a few days only to shut things down for a 3 day weekend then picking things back up again. A new study by the National Retail Federation says parents will spend more on school supplies this year than last. Laptops, tablets and calculators lead the list of must have items which is a far cry from the days of needing an abacus or slide rule for school. What hasn’t changed is the need for the old stand by of pens, pencils, erasures, note book and new clothes and wondering whose going to be in your class this year and is the teacher’s bad ass reputation true or not. Let the adventure begin.
